This series of photographs is from the Aspens development at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. My partner and I had the project of doing 30 Kitchen and Bathroom Cabinet installations.

One of the many, many bathrooms.
We had 3 different layouts and three different colors. This one features granite countertops that we would template for.
Budget Bathrooms
A nice clean quality look can still be achieved with more inexpensive materials. These two bathrooms were done in order to prepare a house for resale.
Subway Tile was chosen because of it's clean classic look and because, though similar in price, it is more visually impressive than plain white squares.
Simple shower unit installed in the lower rental suite.

Outbuildings
Timber frame front and gable end framed and finished for a project up at the Aspens Development.

Framing of a 20' X 30' garage taken midway through raising the roof. "Smart" framing techniques were utilized to minimize lumber usage and decrease the thermal bridging through framing members.
24" on center, stacked framing maximizes strength and minimizes materials used.
Basement Access Foundation
This was a small foundation done with a friend for one of his clients. The rougher side of carpentry work that is hidden, but the most important to get right for 10 years down the line.
This form for the footings was erected in the morning, we poured that afternoon.
Here are the 4' footing walls poured using Insulated Concrete Forms. ICF forms were chosen, along with insulation under the slab, to protect against the cold penetrating the exposed interior of the foundation causing frost heaving.
Ceramics Display Shelf
Shelf made to display ceramics in Jita's Cafe.
A little bathroom with big attitude...
Small bathroom made roomy with natural light and tile wainscot extending around the room.
This black rot is what was lurking beneath the surface of the original tub surround at the window. All framing needed to be replaced.
Utilitarian Carpentry - Cistern Enclosures
Well, some projects are more photogenic than others. I've built independent sheds for cisterns, but like this one, many are housed inside unheated outbuildings. These are fun to build owing to the simplicity and purely utilitarian nature.
When clients have reached the point of needing a back up H20 supply, they do not have much humor left for freezing pipes. Best to make sure the floor is well insulated
Tile
Backsplash extended behind stove and integrated into a cover for updraft vent.
The Kitchen floor after sealing before kickplates.
A bathroom, still wet from sealing

Slate curb in a fancy garage.
Curb by door after grouting.

Large floor tiles were used on this surround. The custom concrete bench compliments the massive tiles.
Tiled shower stall after waterproofing with Kerdi membrane. This project is a good example of how a simple clean look can be achieved from basic inexpensive materials.
Neat and tidy solution for soap and shampoo that does not add any cost to the tile work.
